Q 1、What are the definitions and characteristics of quantum dots?
A
A:(1) A:Quantum dots are semiconductor materials whose sizes are nanoscale (2-20 nm), and electrons are squeezed into three dimensions. In other words, the energy levels of electrons are quantified in three dimensions, which depends on the size of the quantum dots. As a result, QDs have several predominant fluorescent properties, including a broad and continuous excitation spectrum, narrow and symmetric emission spectrum, color tunability and stability, as well as, long fluorescence lifetime and high resistance to external interference. In addition, Quantum dots are highly resistant to chemical degradation and have good biocompatibility. It has become an ideal alternative to organic fluorophores due to its unique fluorescence properties.
(2) Q: What is the difference between quantum dot immunofluorescence and general immunofluorescence?
A: The major difference is the fluorescent materials; traditional organic fluorescent dyes are used in general immunofluorescence, while quantum dots are used in our kit. The excellent optical properties of quantum dots lead to much higher sensitivity and stability than the general immunofluorescence . With high accuracy and good stability, the sensitivity of quantum dot immunofluorescence is comparable to chemiluminescence.
(3) Q: What is the difference between quantum dot with colloidal gold and chemiluminescence?
A: Colloidal gold is a qualitative or semi-quantitative test with low sensitivity and poor repeatability; Although with good sensitivity, chemiluminescence assay ispoor flexibility and time consuming due to the complex equipment operations.
Q 2、Operation procedures for Procalcitonin (PCT) Quantitative Detection Kit
A
A:(1). Analyzer operates automatically after adding samle.
(2). Detection, insert the sample card with sample to the card slot directly and the results can be measured automatically after 15 min.
Q: How much time does the test take? And how much time needed to read the results?
A: 15 min (reaction time) is needed for the test, and the results can be read in 3 s.
Q: Which would be used for the detection, serum, plasma, whole blood or peripheral blood? How many microliters should be added?
A: Serum, plasma, whole blood and peripheral blood can all be used for detection; 100 ul of serum and plasma samples are used directly; 120 ul of whole blood or 20 ul of peripheral blood sample is added to the sampler.
Q: How can the serum be separated?
A: The blood collection tube is allowed to stand for 30 minutes after blood collection, and serum will be separated when the blood is coagulated. The separated serum is centrifuged at 3500 r/min for 4 min using a low speed centrifuge and the supernatant is the serum. Or coagulation promoting blood collection tube is used for direct centrifuge. Q: What is the procalcitonin detection used for?
A: It is mainly used to identify bacterial and viral infections, to support early diagnosis of SIRS / sepsis, and to guide the use of antibiotics, medication evaluation and prognosis evaluation.
Q 3、What are the advantages of dry immunofluorescence analyzer?
